Surfing our yet-uncensored internet yesterday, I found out about a band named Plug-in. These guys play a highly energetic, fresh combination of incredible instrumental shred with an in-your-face, no-wandering-around heavy metal approach ! and did I mention the progressive influences? This music just rocked my ears from the first second, and that bass – what a groove, and audible like it should be. It makes sense, since the album was recorded and mixed by the group’s bass player, “Mobo”. Check the track below, and enjoy it! the part that starts at 1:53 just made my day.
After listening to this track, which is off “Hijack”(2011), I discovered just how much talent this album packs. According to Plug-in‘s official site, guests musicians include: Andy Timmons (Danger Danger), Mattias Eklundh (Freak Kitchen), Patrick Rondat (Elegy, Jean-Michel Jarre), Christophe Godin (Morglbl, Gnô), Sylvain Coudret (Scarve, Soilwork), Denis Cornardeau (Warattah), Jean Fontanille and Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (Guns n’Roses). Do any of these names\bands ring a bell? (;
Checking the rest of the group’s album on their bandcamp page, I noticed a link to an older release – the band’s first EP, dating back to 99′. Did the nineties rock? according to this awesome funk\shred madness, it’s a definite yes:
